Why GymPsycho Exists
I didn't set out to build a fitness app.
I set out to fix a problem I had in my own training.
After 25+ years of lifting — and running my own gym — every workout app felt wrong: too slow, too bloated, too generic — built for mass appeal, not for people who actually train.
They tried to motivate. I just wanted to track real training.
The Reality of Serious Training
Real training isn't clean or generic.
You train in different gyms. With different machines. Different weight units. Different phases.
Progress isn't linear. Technique changes. Numbers reset.
Most apps ignore this reality. I didn't.
Built and Tested in My Own Gym
I run Hardcore Gym Aarau in Switzerland. Every day I see the same patterns I'd already seen in my own training: serious lifters need tools that match how training actually happens — multi-gym, multi-phase, sometimes messy, always honest with the data.
GymPsycho was built first for myself. Then I tested it with my own members. Then refined it again. Every feature passed the same test: does it survive a real training session?

How It Grew
GymPsycho started as a tool for my own training. Then I rolled it out to members of Hardcore Gym Aarau — real lifters, real feedback, real iteration. After that, I realized the same principles that help experienced lifters — clean data, real PR logic, structured volume — also help beginners do it right from day one.
So I built the Plan Generator: personalized, science-based training plans in 60 seconds. Added animated exercise demonstrations for proper form. Built Training Intelligence to guide weight selection and spot plateaus before you feel them.
The goal shifted: not just a tool for athletes, but a training companion that grows with you — from your first day in the gym to your next competition PR.
